The Facebook Facial Recognition feature Photo Review is especially good for your privacy because it will notify you when you appear in photos but are not tagged in. this feature will alert you when your face will shows up in someone else profile photos. You can also tag yourself, leave it be, ask the up-loader to take the photo down, or report it to Facebook.
The Facebook is already using facial recognition features in tag suggestion. When you upload a picture with people in them, Facebook guesses the person in your picture. However such facial recognition feature will raise many privacy concerns.
Joaquin Candela, Facebook’s director of applied machine learning, said that
“We always respect the privacy setting people select when posting a photo on Facebook (whether that’s friends, public or a custom audience), so you won’t receive a notification if you’re not in the audience.”
Furthermore, Facebook is also toting up a new control that will permit the users to turn off face recognition completely if they are worried about its privacy implications.
The Facebook Facial Recognition feature Photo Review is not a default option, so you’ll have to opt out.
