Will SBP Issue Fresh Currency Notes For Eid 2025?
Yes, this year, to keep the tradition of fresh currency notes alive, SBP announced it would offer the new currency notes for Eid. Nearly Rs.27 billion worth of fresh notes for Eid 2025 has been supplied to 17,000 commercial bank branches this month. The commercial banks have already begun distributing new banknotes to the public ahead of the Eid holidays.
The SBP assured that the nationwide ATMs would dispense clean and standard new banknotes throughout the religious festival.
Old Procedure of getting New Currency notes on Eid:
A few years ago the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) launched an SMS service for getting new currency notes for Eid.
SPB may issue a separate press release either the Pakistan new currency notes for the Eid 2025 release date in the coming days or not. The SBP in association with the Pakistan Banks Association (PBA) launched the SMS shortcode 8877 for issuing fresh currency notes on Eid-ul-Fitr.
How do you avail yourself of the SBP SMS service to get fresh currency notes in Pakistan?
- Just send an SMS to 8877 with your CNIC number and a branch ID number.
- Just type the CNIC number Space and Branch ID number and send it to 8877.
- SMS charges are just Rs.+2 tax.
- SBP will not issue the transaction code if the same CNIC number is sent from different mobile numbers.

Current Procedure for getting New Currency notes on Eid 2025:
- You can use each CNIC on a designated bank brand to avail the currency notes on Eid.
- In order to get fresh currency notes the subscriber has to present his/her original CNIC card at the time of receiving money.
- Banks limit issuance to Rs 16,000 to Rs 18,000 per customer
- Each subscriber can exchange and get three packets of Rs10, two copies of Rs.20, and each package of Rs. 50 and Rs. 100.
