We have seen the fingerprint sensors in smartphones for advance security option. In the Same way Mastercard has introduced a new credit card featuring biometric verification fingerprint scanner.
The new Mastercard Credit Card with fingerprint sensor will create more convenience and security as it is the same fingerprint security feature which is being used in mobile payments.
When the customers get registered their fingerprints are converted into an encrypted digital template stored on the card. The cardholder can store up to two fingerprints on the card’s EMV chip.
In order to use the card, all you need to do is to put it in the card reader and put your thumb on the embedded sensor to verify your identity.
Presently, Mastercard is testing the biometric cards in South Africa expects to roll them out to the rest of the world soon.
