Zilhaj Moon 2023 in Pakistan Likely to Sight on June 19

Zilhaj Moon 2023 in Pakistan is likely to be sighted Monday 19th June and thus the Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on Thursday 29th June in the country.  

The Islamic month of Zilhaj 1444 Hijri is all set to begin in Pakistan likely on Monday 19th June if the Zilhaj moon is sighted in the country. The first Zilhajj 2023 in Pakistan will be on 20th June while the Eid-Ul-Adha 2023 will be observed on Thursday 29th June on the 10th Zilhajj 2023 in Pakistan.

In Pakistan members of the various districts, and committees meet at their respective offices for sighting the Eid moon, and the final decision is announced by committee chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal committee chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad will officially declare the sighting of the “Zilhaj moon 2023 in Pakistan”.

On the other hand, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted that there will be a greater chance of sighting the new moon of Zilhaj 1444 Hijri on the evening of 19th June 29th of Ziquad.

As per the statement issued by the Met Office, the new moon of Zilhaj 2023 will be born on crossing conjunction point at 09:37 Pakistan Standard Time (PST) on 18th June, therefore, according to astronomical parameters, there is are chance of sighting the Zilhaj moon on the eve of Monday, 19th of June. The Zilhaj moon 2023 will be sighted on the eve of 19th June and the 1st Zilhaj in Pakistan will be on Tuesday June 20.

The Month of Zilhaj:

Zilhaj is the twelfth and last Islamic month in the Islamic calendar. It is a very holy month in the Islamic calendar because in this month the Muslim Ummah performs hajj and celebrates the Festival of the Sacrifice in memory of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS), who dreamed that God ordered him to sacrifice his only son, Hazrat Ismail (AS).

During the month of Zilhajj Muslim pilgrims from all across the world gather together at Mecca to visit the Kaaba.

The Hajj is performed on the eighth, ninth, and tenth of Zilhaj, and the Day of Arafah takes place on the ninth day of the month.

On the other hand the Eid-ul-Adha, the “Festival of the Sacrifice”, celebrates on the tenth day which ends on the sunset of the 13th Zilhaj.

The Muslim Ummah performed the below-mentioned worship in the first nine days of the month of Zilhaj.

Give extra charity (Sadaqah) in the first 10 days of Zilhaj.

Perform Salaah and spend time in Masjid in order to worship Allah.

Offer voluntary Nafl prayers.

According to this report, the Eid-ul-Adha 2023 in Saudi Arabia will be on the 28th of June, with the start of the first Zilhaj the Hajj Season would be started and this year only a few thousand pilgrims would perform Hajj from within the Kingdom.
