Pakistan Super League Second Edition Final will be held in Lahore: PCB to Draw New Draft Ceremony in February
It has been confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that the Pakistan Super League second Edition final will be held in Lahore on 7th March 2017 and in order to make it sure the board is to draw another draft ceremony in the last week of February to replace the overseas players who are reluctant to travel to Pakistan due to security concerns.
PCB in a new draft ceremony will select those foreign players who are willing to travel to Pakistan in place of those who refused.
PCB has taken this decision due to some foreign players’ uncertainty to come to Pakistan for Playing the Pakistan Super League (PSL2) final in the country on 7th March, 2017.
The Pakistan Super League second Edition (PSL2) tournament will be played in Dubai and Sharjah starting from 9th February 2017.
A PCB Spokesperson stated that the in a recent board meeting it has been decided that the PSL2 final will be held in Lahore and the board is trying to convince players to travel to Pakistan but in the worst situation PCB will organize a new draft ceremony for selecting the players who are ready to tour Pakistan.
And if no foreign players will agree to visiting Pakistan for playing the PSL2 final the board will decide to go for Local Players but the final will be held in Lahore.
On the other hand the International Players’ Association (FICA) said that there is still risk for the foreign players in Pakistan.
The FICA’s comments came a day after Najam Sethi initially said the final would be played in Lahore. However, an updated sovereign calculation is being carried out which will be a major factor in players’ decision making.
