Necessary Precautions and Foods to Combat Air Pollution. The pollution in air reached dangerous level and creating hazardous health issues. The atmosphere in Lahore and adjoining cities is polluted with the smog blanket and the smog is to stay for more days in the city, said Pakistan Meteorologist Department. The polluted air in Lahore is causing eye burning, heavy breathing and respiratory problems.

We would tell you some foods that are helpful in combating the air pollution. These foods contain the natural antioxidant and nutrients that can stimulate your body to deal with this present air pollution.

You need to take fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin C. The use of vitamin C is very much essential in this current atmosphere condition because it contains antioxidants that helps to remove toxins. The regular use of Vitamin C oriented foods is necessary for maintain the lungs function. The body also needs Vitamin E,  the Fat soluble vitamin. The use of Vitamin E rich foods helps to repair the damage human body tissues.

You need also to eat leafy green vegetables including the cabbage, parsley, coriander leaves, fenugreek, Onion, peas Lettuce, spinach and carrots to have Beta Carotene that converted into Vitamin A.  The use of Vitamin A is very essential for the body. It is an antioxidant that fights toxins.

Use glasses when going out and wash eyes frequently to avoid burning.

The government does its bit to improve the air quality and calls for emergency closing down of schools, public places so people could come in contact of this danger as less as possible.

Mash Daal Dahi Baray Recipe

Ingredients for Dahi Baray:

  • Black Gram/Mash ki Daal 2 Cups
  • Red Chili powder 1 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Baking soda 1 tsp

Method:

In a blender add all the above mentioned ingredients and blend well. Now add cumin seeds in the mixture and pour it into the bowl. Now in a frying pan add oil and fry the mixture just like you fry pakoras.

Bread Pizza Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Bread 5’6 pieces
  • Capsicum 1 piece
  • Tomato (cut it into small slices )
  • Chicken (boil as much you required)
  • Mayonnaise
  • Ketchup
  • Cheese (not necessary)
  • Red chili powder 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper 1 tablespoon
  • Salt (small pinch)
  • Oil 2 tablespoon

Method

Cut the sides of bread then give it triangle shape. Later mix mayonnaise, ketchup, black pepper , red chili powder salt with capsicum , tomato and boil chicken pieces and make a paste then apply it on breads and heat the pan after this add 2 tablespoon oil in hot pan and slightly fry the side where you apply the mixture. Serve the pizza bread by scattering cheddar cheese on it.

Serve it with ketchup.

Ingredients:

  • Lamb/Chicken/beef 1 kg
  • Half boiled Basmati rice 3 cups
  • 3 sliced Onions
  • Garam masala powder 2 tablespoon
  • Cloves 5 to 6
  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
  • Green cardamom 5 to 6
  • Oil
  • Black Pepper 1 tablespoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Desi Ghee 2 tablespoon

Ingredients for Garnish:

  • One julienne cut Carrot
  • Sliced Almond
  • Black raisins 5 tablespoons
  • Sugar 4 tablespoon

Method:

First of all make the chicken broth (Yakhni) and set aside.

In a pan heat desi ghee and add carrots and almond and fry them for 3 minutes, now add black raisins, sugar and cardamom powder. Cook until sugar melts.

How to Make Crispy Fried Chicken Strips

Recipes of crispy fried chicken strips:

  • Chicken breast/ cut into strips
  • ½ tablespoon of salt
  • ½ tablespoon black pepper
  • ½ tablespoon garlic paste
  • ½ tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ cup plain flour
  • ½ cup corn-flour
  • 2 eggs
  • Bread crumbs
  • Water
  • Oil

Method:

Marinate chicken with salt, black pepper and garlic paste.

In another bowl add plain flour, corn flour and water and make a thick paste. Now dip the marinated chicken strips into the flour paste now coat it into the bread crumbs and then eggs. Repeat the process for 3 times and then fry it into the oil. Fry until it gets golden brown color. Put chicken in a plate and drain on paper towels.

Serve them with your favorite sauce and enjoy crispy fried chicken strips.
