Overseas Pakistanis Unable to Cast their Vote in General Election 2018 on July 25. It’s a time to form a new government in Pakistan and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has completed all the preparation for the general election 2018. The general election 2018 is schedule to take place on 25th July.

There are nearly 122 political parties that are enlisted for the election here is the list of enlisted parties that are to compete on July 25.

There were rumors that the overseas Pakistanis are now able to cast their votes in Pakistan’s General Election 2018 schedule to be held on 2th July. National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued a notification on 18th July, yesterday, revealed that Pakistanis will not be able to cast vote in the upcoming election.

There were few rumors that overseas Pakistanis can vote in General Elections 2018 and to respond them NADRA officials told Geo News that these rumors are misleading there is no such system that the oversea Pakistani can participate in election via online voting.

The NADRA official said that the if the oversea Pakistani want to cast cote they need to visit the country on the election day. For casting vote through the online voting system can be test in by-poll.

Earlier the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to introduce the Electronic Voting machines till the next poll in 2018 but now failed to introduce them due to the lack of PKR 150 million, briefed NDRA officials.

The official further verified that only those oversea Pakistani can cast vote by coming in Pakistan who have registered data record in NADRA and their votes are registered.

So if you want to cast vote and decided to came to Pakistan make it sure first your data in record in NADRA and you are a registered vote.

The Chief Justice Saqib Nisar had earlier said that overseas Pakistanis would be given the right to cast their votes in 2018 election but the case ‘to enable overseas Pakistanis’ is still pending.

How the voters in Pakistan can Check either their vote is registered or not?

On the other hand Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has finalized the lists of registered voters in the country. To provide the ease and comfort to the registered voters ECP has launched an SMS service in collaboration with NADRA so that the voter can check registration status from anywhere in the country.

Voters can check their vote status to contribute in the Election 2018 by sending a text message by writing the number of their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) without dash in the message and send it to 8300.

You will instantly get the replay after sending the SMS, with the name of the electoral area, block code and serial number. The Rs. 2 service charges are applicable.

Public Holiday on Election Day:

Public Holiday will be observed on 25th July, 2018 on Wednesday across the country on the occasion of General Election .

Polling Time:

The polling will start from 8am to 6pm on Wednesday, 25th July 2018 in Pakistan so that the voters can easily cast their votes.

According to sources this is the first time in electoral history of Pakistan that the polling duration has been extended across the board.

ECP Announced Public Holiday on Pakistan’s General Election 2018 on July 25

Public Holiday will be observed on July 25 in Pakistan on General Election 2018 . Pakistan’s General Elections 2018 are scheduled to be held in on 25th July and there will be public holiday across the country.

It’s a time to form a new government in Pakistan and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has completed all the preparation for the general election 2018. The general election 2018 is schedule to take place on 25th July.

ECP has issued final list of candidates, and as per the list  3,675 contestants are in the electoral arena for the National Assembly’s seats, 1,696 candidates are contesting from Punjab: 760 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; 872 from Sindh; and 303 are in the field from Balochistan for the lower house of the Parliament.

The National Assembly has 342 members’ seats, 272 are directly elected, 60 seats are reserved for women and 10 are open to religious minorities.

If any political party wants victory in election it needs at least 172 seats to form a majority government the national level and also has the right to choose a prime minister.

The lists of registered voters have been finalized by the ECP, a total of 105.96 million voters out of total population of nearly 200 million people are included in the election 2018.
The majority of the opinion polls hint that Pakistan Muslim League (N)  will lead with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) being the close second.

The Pakistan’s General Elections 2018 will be held on Wednesday, 25th July across the country and the polling will start from 8am to 6pm. On the occasion of election there will be a public holiday on Wednesday, 25th July 2018 in Pakistan so that the voters can easily cast their votes.

According to sources this is the first time in electoral history of Pakistan that the polling duration has been extended across the board.

ECP said that in a situation of extreme emergency on the day of the election the polling time will be extended.

Pakistan’s General Election 2018: How to Check Voter Registration Status? Pakistan Muslim League (PML N) got victory in the elections 2013, led by twice Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and emerged as the major party with 166 seats out of a of 342 in the National Assembly.

Later on the Supreme Court disqualified former prime minister on 28th July 2017 due to his employment with FZE Capital and for not disclosing the Avenfield flats and offshore assets.

The court then directed NAB to file references against Nawaz Sharif and his family and yesterday on 6th July, 2018 The National Accountability Court (NAB) has announced its verdict in the Avenfield flats reference.

Ex- Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Captain Safdar will now have to face 10 years in prison and 8 million pounds fine, 7 years in prison and 2 million pounds fine and one year in jail respectively.

Now it’s a time to form a new government in Pakistan and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has completed all the necessary preparation for the Election 2018 schedule to take place on 25th July.

After sending the SMS you will instantly get the automated response with the name of the electoral area, block code and serial number.

Rs. 2 service charges are applicable.

Every registered voter can check his/her particulars by visiting their respective District Election Commissioner’s office located in their area. The addresses of the DEC offices across the country are available at the ECP website.

How to Register?

If you can find your vote status and want to register yourself as voter to participate in Pakistan’s General elections 2018, you can submit your application along with a copy of your CNIC to the District Election Commissioner (DEC)/ Registration Officer/Assistant Registration Officer of the district before April 30, 2018.

Form is available online at ECP Website.

It is important to mention here that ECP has still not given the voting status to overseas Pakistanis but they can cast their vote if register by visiting the country on Election Day.

On the other hand the Secretary ECP, Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad talking to a delegation of transgender who called upon the secretary ECP last year hoped that disable persons, women and transgender will actively participate in upcoming elections.

This is not confirmed yet either they can cast vote in the Election 2018 or not.

IHC Has Lift Ban From Government Jobs and Recruitment. We informed you that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had temporary banned the recruitment for the government jobs. The ban on the Recruitment for the government jobs was imposed due to upcoming elections 2018.

The ban on the Recruitment for the jobs was applicable from 1st April and will remain until the elections 2018 in the country. In this regard ECP had issued a notification on Wednesday in this regard and according to the statement issued there would be a hiring freeze in appointments made by federal, provincial and local governments.

The provisional and government authorities has submit a petition against ECP declaration in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) and in today hearing IHC has issued the verdict in favor of petition.

ECP Banned Recruitment for Government Jobs

The provincial and government institutes submit a petition in Islamabad High Court against ECP decision last week. And Today, IHC has announced the decision of this hearing.

Saqib Nisar Sahib, the chief justice of Pakistan, has taken sou moto notice on the ban on government jobs and recruitment. The Supreme Court noticed the IHC to declare the verdict so in today hearing the final decision announced by the Islamabad High Court bench headed by Justice Aamer Farooq.

Now there is no ban on government jobs and recruitment and the vacant posts will be fulfilled as per requirements.

ECP Banned Recruitment for Government Jobs. Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has temporary banned the recruitment for the government jobs. The ban on the Recruitment for the government jobs is imposed due to upcoming elections 2018.

The ban on the Recruitment for the government jobs is applicable starting from 1st April and will remain until the elections 2018 held successfully in the country. ECP has issued a notification on Wednesday in this regard and according to the statement issued there will be a hiring freeze in appointments made by federal, provincial and local governments.

The Election Commission has taken all the ruling political players by surprise by issuing these orders.

As per notification there will not only the ban a on new government appointments but also on granting of development funds, ostensibly to discourage pre-poll rigging. The development schemes comprise those pertaining to the supply of gas and water, construction and carpeting of roads.

ECP had banned public office-holders from using public money to endorse themselves ahead of the elections 2018.

As per the notification all the jobs including public service commissioned jobs, government jobs are banned but the recruitment Federal and Provincial Public service commission are free from this ban by ECP.

The Internship schemes such as (PEEF and PYMST) are also not included in the ban.

The jobs offered after 1st April 2018 are temporarily banned.

All the development projects pertaining to the supply of gas and water, construction and carpeting of roads are banned.

The good news about is that the ban is temporary and will uplift once the elections 2018 held successfully in Pakistan.

Why ECP banned Jobs and Development Projects?

This ban is placed due to the upcoming elections 2018 in Pakistan and as per Media reports the ruling political parties in the country had to be paid hefty development funds to use those near the elections to attract the voters, but now their plans are near ruined.

It is hoped that after the election 2018 the ban on the government jobs will be lifted but there is no clear announcement made by the officials.

ECP to register eunuchs as voters: secretary ECP. Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad Monday assured that especial steps being taken by ECP to register transgender as voters.Talking to a delegation of transgender who called upon the secretary ECP in his office on Monday, the secretary hoped that disable persons, women and transgender will actively participate in upcoming elections.

Matters related to enlisting the third gender as voter and problems being faced by the community during polling process were discussed in detail during the meeting. Assuring full cooperation on behest of ECP, Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad said that before starting review of voter lists’ from January 2018, all district election commissioners would be directed to register transgender as voters adding priority would be given to transvestite at polling stations during the polling process, he said.

“During the training of Presiding officers, they would be given special directives regarding care of eunuchs on polling day,” Secretary ECP mentioned while talking to the delegation. He told the delegation that drive going on in 79 districts to register women as voters during which steps will also be taken for registration of third gender.
The delegation thanked the secretary for taking beneficial steps for the community and assured him to play due role during the upcoming polls.

The delegation was comprised upon leader of Baluchistan Transgender Alliance Madam Lucky, General Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhaw Transgender Alliance Arzoo Khan, Farzana Khan, Program Coordinator Blue Whales Qamar Naseem, Gul Jana Advocate and Advocate Shazia Ijaz.
