Yes you heard the right the Electric cars are now officially coming to Pakistan in few months and people will be able to grab their hands on these Chinese electric cars at affordable price.

JAC Motors, a Chinese car company, is planning to launch the electric cars in Pakistan and plans to continue development in the future. JAC Motors is the largest exporters of vehicles to more than 100 countries across the world, has also been planning to enter in Pakistan with its cost effective Electric cars.

Ever since the updated Auto Policy in Pakistan a number of international automotive companies are investing in the Pakistani automotive industry by launching vehicles and setting up manufacturing plants.

We already have conventional Chinese automobiles in Pakistan from FAW cars to Foton to Zotye and a few more.

Now the JAC Motors has officially declared its arrival in Pakistan with eclectic cars. David Zhang, the Deputy Chief Economic Manager of JAC Motors said that they are planning to bring new energy vehicles mainly electric cars in the Pakistani market under a long term expansion program in the future.

He also said that the prices of the upcoming electric cars by JAC Motors will be very low so the middle class can have the opportunity to buy the vehicles for them.

JAC Company is already exporting its products particularly the light and mini trucks to Pakistan but now it’s a plan to officially set up the manufacturing plant to locally assemble these trucks and vehicles.

The customers who are found of electric cars now will be able to buy the affordable Chinese electric cars in Pakistan by JAC Motors. These electric cars will definitely be turning out to be more beneficial for them as compared to vehicles run on petrol or diesel.

In Pakistan the prices of petrol and other petroleum products are increasing day by day and the arrival of electric cars in the country would also relief the consumers.

Currently JAC Motors has a couple of products in their electric vehicle lineup namely the JAC iEV5 and iEV6.

The JAC iEV5 offers up to 200km in a single charge while the JAC iEV6 runs  250km in a single charge.

Now another Chinese manufacturer has brought the electric cars in Pakistan called Shifeng D101. The Shifeng D101 electric car is now up for sale in Pakistan. The Shifeng D101 model is five doors and four-seat hatchback model.

Features of Shifeng D101

The overall dimensions of Shifeng D101 are 3465×1530×1485 mm (L×W×H) and its weight is 1180 kg and. It has the wheelbase of 2345 mm and has the capability to run approximately 150 kilometers on a single charge.

The report revealed that the Shifeng D101 electric car can take up to 9 hours to charge from zero battery (official Shifeng number). It has the top speed of 80 km/h. Shifeng D101 comes with disks in the front and drums in the rear.

Electric and Hybird Cars Will Available in Pakistan

Hyundai Motor Company has a plan to set up the car assembly plant in Pakistan in collaboration with Nishat Group. The Nishat Group’s chairman Mian Mansha has revealed that the South Korean car manufacturer company is planning to launch the electric and hybrid cars in Pakistan.

The Hyundai Motor Company is planning to start with the small vehicles in the country that could contend with the present (Japanese) assemblers already working in this market.

The Nishat Group’s chairman revealed that they are discussing with the assemblers to bring the electric and hybrid vehicles in the country. At first they will import the electric cars but later on they will start assembling them locally.

Investment in Project:

The chairman of Nishat Group Mian Mansha is investing $120m in the project and they will be 42 per cent stake holder in it, Millat Tractors holding 18 per cent while the Japanese firm 10 per cent. The remaining shareholding will be offloaded on the country’s stock market.

Location:

The car assembly plant will be set up in an industrial zone near Faisalabad.

Nishat Group is the country’s third major business group to have revealed plans of development a car assembly plant in partnership with a foreign carmaker (Hyundai).
