FFC Continues to be Number 1 in PSX Ranking. Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC) has been declared FIRST among the TOP 25 Companies of Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) for the year 2016, consecutively for 7th time since 2010. The basis of evaluation for the award includes Dividend Pay-out, Capital Efficiency, Profitability, Free Float of Shares, Transparency & Investors Relation and Compliance with Listing of Companies & Securities Regulations. The award reflects recognition of excellent financial and managerial performance of the Company by PSX.

The CE & MD of FFC, Lt Gen Shafqaat Ahmed, HI(M) (Retd) appreciated the efforts of management for maintaining the remarkable position of honour to the company for seventh consecutive year. He acknowledged and specially appreciated the relevant departments of the company and the workforce for their exemplary professionalism that led to the achievement.

“FFC has always displayed excellence in governance, compliance to statutory obligations, conformity and adherence to International Corporate and Financial Standards. Declaration by PSX reflects high standards of transparency, controls, disclosures, commitment, fairness, accountability and Good Board Practices”; Lt Gen Shafqaat said in a message to the company.

CE& MD further stated that FFC greatly valued its shareholders, who have always trusted the Company’s management. The achievement of this honour reflects the professionalism which has assured investors confidence through best returns, greater protection of their rights, investments and best utilization of their money for growth of the Company.

FFC Organizes Session On Better Business Practices To Meet SDGs. Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited (FFC) in collaboration with partners Corporate Social Responsibility Centre Pakistan (CSRCP), Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) and United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), Pakistan Network organized a session on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to discuss alignment of business strategies with SDGs and reporting business contribution in meeting the SDGs.

During the panel discussion on aligning business strategies with SDGs, CEO Institute of Leadership Development (UNGC-Pakistan Chapter) , Mr. Fasihul Karim Siddiqi discussed how businesses can align their actions in support of SDGs in order to tap the business opportunities provided by the global goals.

 Ms. Genevieve Hussain from UN Food and Agriculture Office (FAO) shared her views on the benefits offered by the SDGs for the business. Eminent corporate leaders shared their views on the topic during panel discussion. Other panelists included Ms. Ayesha Khan, Country Director, Hashoo Foundation and Mr. Fasihul Karim Siddiqi.

In second session of the event, Mr. Muhammad Imran, Director Projects and Training, CSRCP discussed the prevailing trends in corporate responsibility reporting at global, regional and national level. He also discussed, how business can report on their contribution towards SDGs. Mr. Pietro Bertazzi, Deputy Director , Policy and Global Affairs – Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) shared the updates on GRI-UNGC Business Reporting on SDGs Action Platform.

The panelists agreed that there is a dire need to introduce the reporting regulations and take steps to create awareness among business on sustainability reporting to bring Pakistan at par with regional peers and at global level. The panelists for the session were Ms. Saima Kamila Khan – Company Secretary, ICI Pakistan, members from Best Corporate and Sustainability Reporting Committee of ICAP and ICMAP.

The event was attended by a large number of corporate leaders, representatives from Planning Commission, provincial SDGs cell, UNDP, UNGC, Pakistan Stock Exchange, Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy, Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund, PARCO, Indus Motors Company and other leading companies working on sustainability.

FFC Announces Financial Results for Q3 FY 2017.  Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited (FFC) has announced Nine monthly results for the year 2017.The Company achieved new Urea production benchmark of 1,928 thousand tonnes during the period.

The Company attained ‘Sona’ urea sales of 1,741thousand tonnes including exports during the period. Dividend income amounted to Rs1.235billion. Consequently, net earnings of Rs5.934 billion was earned translating in earnings per share of Rs. 4.66 during the period.

The Company also declared third interim dividend of Rs1.50 per share for the third quarter thus declaring aggregate dividend of Rs. 4.00 per share for the period ended September 30,2017.

FFC and Hashoo Group Sign MoU for Sustainable Development. Official non-profit organization of FFC, Sona Welfare Foundation has signed an MoU with Hashoo Foundation to play role in achieving global sustainable development goals.

 Mou has been signed by Chief Operating Officer of Sona Welfare Foundation Brig Abid Mahmud (Retd) and Country Director for Hashoo Foundation, Ms Ayesha Khan.  The aim of this MoU is the wellbeing, empowerment and patronage of underserved segments of the country.

 Chief Operating Officer, SWF Brig Abid Mahmud (Retd) said the MOU is a significant step collectively towards social responsibility and sustainable progress. 

While commenting on the MoU, Ms Ayesha Khan, said that the commitment does not end with individual and community development but that’s where we begin to support the government to achieve Sustainable Development goals.

FFC Join Hands with Kaus-e-Kaza to Support the Under Privileged Population

FFC Join Hands with Kaus-e-Kaza to Support the Under Privileged Population. Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited (FFC) has signed an MoU of strategic partnership with Kaus-e-Kaza Organization (KKO) to help the vulnerable and privileged population .

Mou has been signed between the official non-profit organization of FFC, Sona Welfare Foundation (SWF) and a leading NGO in Pakistan, KKO in Rawalpindi. The aim of the strategic partnership is to share expertise, resources and available platforms to reach out to deprived population in remote areas, especially women through skill development, vocational training and other initiatives for poverty alleviation.

The MOU was signed by chief operating officer of SWF Brig Abid Mahmud and Executive Coordinator of KKO Dr. Fauzia Mughees.  Senior officials of FFC and KKO were also present at the ceremony.

FFC-Free-Eye-Camp

FFC sets up Free Eye Camp at District Jhelum

As per its tradition, Fauji Fertilizer company limited (FFC) organized a free Eye Camp at village Souwal, Tehsil PindDadan Khan, District Jhelum, in collaboration with Al-Shifa Eye Trust, an esteemed and trusted organization.

The aim of the camp was to provide the people with free eye check-ups, along with free medicine, and free glasses to those in need.

Over 1300 patients had eye checkups, issued medicines and glasses. 113 cataract cases were referred to Al – Shifa Eye Trust Hospital, Rawalpindi for free surgeries.

FFC also plans to conduct series of similar events in other parts of the country specifically for supporting under privileged communities through its CSR program.

International Fertilizer Association Re-elects CE&MD FFC as its Director

The International Fertilizer Association (IFA) has recognized Pakistan’s leading fertilizer company and has re-elected Chief Executive & Managing Director Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC) Lt Gen Shafqaat Ahmed, HI(M) (Retd) as a director of the prestigious IFA, consecutively for the second term from the South Asian Region.

The decision to re-elect Lt Gen Shafqaat Ahmed, HI(M) (Retd) on board of directors was made on May 24, 2017 during the 85th IFA Annual Conference held at Marrakech, Morocco.

Spokesperson of the FFC Col Waheed Hamid (Retd), termed the development a matter of pride for the nation.

He Said,

“IFA has over 525 members in 85 countries and now maintains representation on the board of directors from Pakistan. Representation at such level on International forum will not only facilitate in highlighting Pakistan’s view at such an important forum but will also help in bringing in new innovations of fertilizer and agri-sector being discussed at the world forum.”

FFC Joins Hands With PHF To Promote Hockey

Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC) signed MOU with Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) on 22nd May 2017at Rawalpindi. A ceremony in this regard held at the head office of FFC, where PHF Secretary and former Olympian Mr. Shahbaz Senior and Head of FFC CSR Brig Abid Mahmud (Retd) signed MOU to sponsor and promote hockey and its emerging talent in the country.

The ceremony hosted by FFC was attended by key officials from both organizations. The PHF officials included Treasurer PHF Mr. Ikhlaq, former Olympians Mr. Mansoor Khan and Mr. Saeed Khan.

Head of FFC CSR, Brig Abid Mahmud (Retd) on the occasion reaffirmed his company’s commitment toward nation building and national cause. He said that “FFC takes pride in helping PHF to revive the glory of hockey which is close to the heart of all Pakistanis”.

FFC announces annual financial results 2016

Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited (FFC) has announced financial results for the year 2016. Consequently, net profit of Rs. 11.782 billion was earned translating into an EPS of Rs. 9.26, lower by 30% compared to last year. The Company also declared dividend of Rs 2.75 Per Share for the quarter thus aggregating Rs 7.90 Per Share for the year 2016.

The Company achieved highest ever annual ‘Sona’ urea production of 2,523 tones. The Company attained  ‘Sona’ urea sales of 2,428 tones during the year, despite unfavorable market conditions with aggregate sales revenues of Rs 79.856 billion including subsidy income of Rs 6.979 billion.

Income on investments and deposits was recorded at Rs. 1.276 billion, a decline of 36%. Dividend income of Rs 2.409 billion was lower by 11% compared to last year mainly due to lower dividend receipts from associated undertakings. The tax charge of Rs 5.612 billion for the year included the uncontrollable incremental cost of Super Tax of Rs 690 million.
