Pakistan’s General Elections 2018 are scheduled to be held in on 25th July.

Pakistan’s General Election 2018: How to Check Voter Registration Status? Pakistan Muslim League (PML N) got victory in the elections 2013, led by twice Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and emerged as the major party with 166 seats out of a of 342 in the National Assembly.

Later on the Supreme Court disqualified former prime minister on 28th July 2017 due to his employment with FZE Capital and for not disclosing the Avenfield flats and offshore assets.

The court then directed NAB to file references against Nawaz Sharif and his family and yesterday on 6th July, 2018 The National Accountability Court (NAB) has announced its verdict in the Avenfield flats reference.

Ex- Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Captain Safdar will now have to face 10 years in prison and 8 million pounds fine, 7 years in prison and 2 million pounds fine and one year in jail respectively.

Now it’s a time to form a new government in Pakistan and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has completed all the necessary preparation for the Election 2018 schedule to take place on 25th July.

ECP has issued final list of candidates, and as per the list  3,675 contestants are in the electoral arena for the National Assembly’s seats, 1,696 candidates are contesting from Punjab: 760 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; 872 from Sindh;and 303 are in the field from Balochistan for the lower house of the Parliament.

ECP has also finalized the lists of registered voters in the country and in order to provide easy to voters ECP has joined hands with NADRA to launch SMS service so that the voters can easily check their registration status from anywhere.

How to Check Voter Status via SMS?

Voters can check their vote status to participate in the Election 2018 by sending a text message by writing the number of their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) without dash in the message and send it to 8300.

After sending the SMS you will instantly get the automated response with the name of the electoral area, block code and serial number.

Rs. 2 service charges are applicable.

Every registered voter can check his/her particulars by visiting their respective District Election Commissioner’s office located in their area. The addresses of the DEC offices across the country are available at the ECP website.

How to Register?

If you can find your vote status and want to register yourself as voter to participate in Pakistan’s General elections 2018, you can submit your application along with a copy of your CNIC to the District Election Commissioner (DEC)/ Registration Officer/Assistant Registration Officer of the district before April 30, 2018.

Form is available online at ECP Website.

It is important to mention here that ECP has still not given the voting status to overseas Pakistanis but they can cast their vote if register by visiting the country on Election Day.

On the other hand the Secretary ECP, Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad talking to a delegation of transgender who called upon the secretary ECP last year hoped that disable persons, women and transgender will actively participate in upcoming elections.

This is not confirmed yet either they can cast vote in the Election 2018 or not.

Pakistan Cup 2018 All Set To Begin From April 25. Pakistan Cup 2018 is all set to start from 25th April in Faisalabad. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made the official declaration of the Pakistan Cup 2018 schedule to begin from 25th April.

Pakistan Cup 2018 is the domestic ODI tournament will begin from 25th April in Faisalabad. There will be 11 matches in total which will be played between 5 teams from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Federal areas.

The 5 teams from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Federal areas will be the part of Pakistan Cup 2018. Top players form the Pakistani Cricket team will be the part of these domestic teams.

The opening match of Pakistan Cup 2018 will be played between Balochistan and Punjab.

Demanding Dowry Will Result in Fine and Imprisonment in KPK. Don’t Demand Dowry Otherwise You Will Face Fine and Imprisonment. The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has approved a new law and according to the new law you will face fine and imprisonment if you will demand dowry form bride family.

The new law has banned the demands of dowry and if you violate the law it will result in fine and imprisonment as well. The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has barred bridegroom and their families from demands of dowry in the province.

As per Law demanding the dowry will face charges that could result in prison time of up to two months, a fine of Rs 300,000 or both.

If you are facing such a situation you can write a complaint can be filed to a first class magistrate. This new bill was presented by the Rashida Riffat of Jamaat-e-Islami in KP assembly and got the approval of the majority yesterday.

ECP Bans Social Media & YouTube in its offices

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has banned the use of social media and Youtube in its offices across Pakistan. In this regard ECP has issued a notification that revealed that social media websites including Facebook, Twitter and video streaming websites including Youtube will remain prohibit in the ECP offices across the country.

For putting ban on social media websites and video streaming websites ECP’s Deputy Director Syed A. Rehman sent a letter to the provisional election commissioners of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

The letter revealed that the purpose on the ban of social media and Youtube on ECP Networks is to lessen the number of malware attacks and ensure the discipline of using electronic resources up to the optimum level.

The letter was sent to ECP offices nationwide on 31st March, 2017.

ECP has instructed provincial election commissioners to put immediate ban on social media and Video streaming sites with the assistance of provincial general managers of PTCL and National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC).

PCB to Launch Cool & Cool Pakistan Cup 2017

After the success two sessions of Pakistan Super League the PCB is all set to launch Cool & Cool Pakistan Cup 2017.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday held a drafting ceremony of the players, who want to be the part of the one-day tournament of Cool & Cool Pakistan Cup 2017.

The draft ceremony was attended by the management and the skippers of the five teams.

The five teams namely Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Federal will be the part of the Cool & Cool Pakistan cup 2017.

The Cool & Cool Pakistan Cup 2017 is all set to kick off 11th April while the final will be played in Lahore on 5th May. In the opening ceremony of the tournament Balochistan will take on Sindh.

KPK Government Wants To Withdraw 19.5% Tax on Mobile Broadband

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government has decide to approve the proposal on to withdraw the 19.5% Tax on Mobile Broadband. In this regard KPK government has called the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) MD, Mr. Shehryar Khan to submit proposals in order to withdraw 19.5% Tax on Mobile Broadband (MBB).

After submission of proposals, it will be presented to the Chief Minister of the KPK Pervaiz Khattak for final approval.

The statement has been made yesterday by the Additional Secretary of the Province Mr. Azam Khan and requested the MD of KPITB to submit proposals within one week.

Earlier in January, 2016 KPK government has demanded to withdraw 19.5% Tax on Mobile Broadband and data services. Following KPK initiative Punjab and Singh Government also demanded to remove tax on cellular services in order to relief the subscribers.

The government of Sindh has officially declared the public holiday in the province in order to commemorate Iqbal Day on November 9, 2016.

The federal government declared November 9 a public holiday in Sindh, following the decision of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government announcement of a public holiday tomorrow in KPK.

All the public and private schools across Sindh will remain closed on Wednesday 9th November, 2016 on account of Iqbal Day.

Famous Pakistani Fast Bowler Shoaib Akhtar (aka Rawalpindi Express) became father on Monday. ALLAH blessed him with a cute baby boy. The 41 years old pacer Shoaib Akhtar  got married in 2014 with a girl from Haripur in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He confirmed the news on his Twitter account by tweeting:

“Guys, am ecstatic to share that me & Begum have been blessed with a healthy baby boy just now. Oh what a feeling! Thank u Allah Pak,”

The Chief Minister of KPK, Parvez Khattak has officially declared the public holiday on 9th November, 2016 in order to commemorate the Iqbal Day.

All the public government and private institutes and offices will remain close on November 9 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
