Peshawar Zalmi to Host Fata Super League Starting From April 3

The Pakistan Super League 2 Champion Peshawar Zalmi has declared to host the Fata Super League which is scheduled to kick off from April 3 to April 13, revealed a statement issued by the Peshawar Zalmi

The statement revealed that all the matches of Fata Super League will be played in four stadiums in FATA and 24 teams will participate in the tournament. The 11-day Fata Super league will comprise 67 matches.

The tournament will feature top cricketers including Salman Butt, Umar Amin, Mohammad Rizwan and others.

Winning team will be awarded Rs0.6 million while the runner-ups will get Rs0.3 million.

The owner of the franchise Javed Afridi said that the tournament will offer excellent opportunity to the talented cricket players of the region and the propose of the Fata Super League is to endorse the positive and peaceful image of Fata.

He added that the success of this T20 league will fetch more ordinariness to the area and is fully supported by the Pakistan Army and the politicians. It is worth mentioning here that in November 2016 retired army chief Gen Raheel Sharif inaugurated a cricket stadium in Khyber Agency with cricketer Shahid Afridi.

PCB to Launch Cool & Cool Pakistan Cup 2017

After the success two sessions of Pakistan Super League the PCB is all set to launch Cool & Cool Pakistan Cup 2017.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday held a drafting ceremony of the players, who want to be the part of the one-day tournament of Cool & Cool Pakistan Cup 2017.

The draft ceremony was attended by the management and the skippers of the five teams.

The five teams namely Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Federal will be the part of the Cool & Cool Pakistan cup 2017.

The Cool & Cool Pakistan Cup 2017 is all set to kick off 11th April while the final will be played in Lahore on 5th May. In the opening ceremony of the tournament Balochistan will take on Sindh.

The five ODI match series is leaded by Australia with 2-1. Pakistan has won the 2nd ODI match under the captaincy of Muhammad Hafeez but lost the 3rd ODI now it is confirmed that Azhar Ali is fit and back to lead the cricket team for the 4th ODI against Australia in Sydney.

Australia has made changes in the cricket team but now Mitchell Starc is back and there are reports that suggested about the inclusion of Adam Zampa for the first time in the ODI series against Pakistan.

After losing the three-test matches series against Australia, Pakistan is all set to play the five matches One Day International cricket series, starting on 13th January 2017 in Brisbane.

The 16 members’ Pakistani cricket team will be joined by Muhammad Hafeez and Azhar Ali while Muhammad Irfan will not be the part of ODI team due to the death of her mother.

The Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq has finally declared the 16-member Test squad for Australia tour on Monday.

Pakistan cricket team will play three test matches in the tour to Australia. The test match will start from December 15 to January 7, 2017.

The first test match between Pakistan and Australia will be played from 15 to 19 December at Brisbane Cricket Ground; the second Test match will be on 26th to 30th December 26-30 at Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The Third Test match between Pakistan and Australia will be played from  30 to 7 January, 2017 at Sydney Cricket Ground.

The chief selector Inzamam ul Haq on today has finalised the 16-members Test squad of Pakistani Cricket team for New Zealand tour 2016.

After the consultation with team Head Coach Mickey Arthrur and the Test captain captain Misbahul Haq, National Selection Committee and Inzamam ul Haq finalized the test team squad for New Zealand.

The selectors decide to opt Sharjeel Khan and out Muhammad Hafeez for the test Squad for New Zealand. Zulfiqar Babar also be not the part of the test squad.

Pakistani cricket team will play two Test matches in the New Zealand tour starting from 17th November, 2016.

The first Test match between Pakistan and New Zealand will be played from 17th to 21st November at Hagley Oval, Christchurch and second Test will be from 25th to 29th November at Seddon Park, Hamilton.

The draft ceremony for the second Edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) was inaugurated on Wednesday, 19th October 2016 in Dubai. There will be same number of cricket teams in the Twenty20 second edition of Pakistan Super League 2017.

PCB has declared the second Edition of Pakistan Super League. The PSL 2 is all set to start in February, 2017 in United Arab Emirates. There will be same number of cricket teams in the Twenty20 second edition of Pakistan Super League 2017.

The Chairman of PSL Najam Sethi said that the final match of the Pakistan Super League second edition would be played in Lahore, while he was addressing in the draft ceremony in Dubai.

The draft ceremony was held in Dubai Sports City whit the first bid of Lahore Qalandars.

The authorities divided the over four hundred foreign and national players into five categories. The categories are as follow:

  • Platinum category includes 28 players,
  • Diamond category 33,
  • Gold category 74,
  • Silver category 255
  • Emerging category includes 24 players

Platinum Category round 1:

In the first Bid Lahore Qalandars has selected the Brendan McCullum, the  ex-New Zealand captain. The declared him the captain of the team instead of Azhar Ali.

Karachi Kings picked Chris Gayle in the second bid. Chris Gayle was the part of Lahore Qalandars in the PSL first edition.

Islamabad United picked Misbah-ul-Haq, Peshawar Zalmi selected Shahid Afridi and Quetta Gladiators chose Kevin Pietersen form the platinum category.

Platinum Category Round 2:

In the round 2 for the platinum category Lahore Qalandars chose Sunil Narine, Karachi Kings selected Kieronn Pollar, Peshawar Zilmi decided to go for Eoin Morgan, while Shane Watson become the part of Islamabad United.

On the other hand sticking to earlier cricketers in PSL1 Quetta Gladiators chose Twenty20 captain of Pakistan Cricket team Sarfraz Ahmad.

Platinum Category Round 3:

In the round three of Platinum category Lahore Qalandars decided to go for Umer Akmal, Karachi King selected Shoaib Malik, Peshawar Zilmi Chose Wahab Riaz, Islamabad United selected Andre Russell and Quetta Gladiators picked Ahmad Shehzad.
