Senators Reject U.S President’s Decision, Appeal Muslims to Cancel Weapons Deals, Boycott Products.Senators Monday rejecting decision of U.S President Trump regarding declaring Jerusalem as capital of Israel, has appealed all Muslims countries to cancel their all weapons deals with U.S and also boycott its products.
Legislators also suggested to summon joint meeting of the Parliament on the issue of Bait-ul-Muqadas to give unanimous and clear message from the government and the Parliament that “we all reject the U.S decision on Bait-ul-Muqadas”.
Senator Sehar Kamran expressing her views on different adjournment motions and resolutions regarding U.S decision of declaring Jerusalem as the capital of Qiblaw-e-Awal (Bait-ul-Muqadas) said that decision of U.S President regarding Bait-ul-Muqadas has saddened the entire Muslim Ummah. “We have to get assembled to defend Masjid Aqsa”, she said, adding if the 56 Islamic countries do not get united then the enemies would reach upto our jugglery veins.
Whether the resolutions of the United Nations have become meaningless as a single person was declaring Bait-ul-Maqas as the capital of Israel, she posed a question.
She termed U.S President as international terrorist, adding he wanted to spread unrest in the whole world. “Jerusalem was Palestine, is Palestine and would remain Palestine”, she raised voice in favor of Palestinian in Senate of Pakistan.
Sehar Kamran deplored that human rights organizations were mum over the barbarism in Palestine. She said there was need that entire Muslim Ummah must get united, adding alas! We have not a leader like Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and hence Jewish lobby was gaining advantage of this situation.
Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed said this step of U.S President has slapped on U.N. He said nine out of eleven ex-U.S envoys have rejected this step. Likewise this, the entire world has rejected the U.S step. He highlighted Pakistan’s deep lasting relation with Palestine. He recalled that Palestine issue was also highlighted in March 23, 1940 resolution.
He said Pakistan had sent his pilots to wage war against Israel while Pakistan had threatened to wage war against Israel to favor Damascus. Every Pakistan was standing shoulder by shoulder with their Palestinian brothers, he added.
He asked Arab countries to review arms contract with U.S, saying Pakistan has to play leading role, in this regard. He said Palestine issue is the most important issue of Middle East and was equally important likewise Kashmir issue.
Senator Tahir Mashhadi said announcement of the U.S President has hurt the entire Muslim Ummah, adding this decision is against international laws and U.N resolutions. This decision has not only hurt the sentiments of Muslim but also Christians, he added. He was of the view that such measures were being adopted due to slackness of Muslims rulers and silence. He urged the need to boycott U.S and Jewish products while Arab League must cancel all defence contracts with U.S.
Why Arab League was mum over the U.S President’s decision?, Senator Kalsoom Perven posed a question. Senator Farhatullah Babar said that U.S President has not only violated international laws but also U.N resolutions.
He said U.S has also violated its own policy. He said Hizbullah Iran was the only counties standing against Israel in Middle East. He said Hizbullah was fully supporting Palestinians against Israel. We are part of that Islamic alliance which was anti-Iran, he added. He said if the Islamic countries’ alliance was not Iran and was against terrorism then a voice must raise from this house that U.S President’s decision was biggest move of terrorism in Middle East.
Senator Rehman Malik said U.S President has attacked on inter-faith harmony. He said this step of US President was tantamount of promoting Israel in the whole world. He said entire world was terming Palestine issue as disputed but U.S President was not ready to hear this.
Usman Kakar strongly condemned the U.S government and President for this step. He said people of different faiths were residing in Palestine and they unanimously raised voice against Jewish violence.
Senator Sherry Rehman said Pakistan must adopt a strong position on the issue, adding there was need to table resolution on Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) level. She said if the Islamic countries are united then they can do a lot on this issue. Other Senators including Tanvir-ul-Haq Thanvi, Javed Abbasi, Prof. Sajid Mir, Mukhtar Aajiz Dhamrah, Saood Majeed, Saeed-ul-Hasan Mando Khel and Nehal Hashmi also expressed their views.
