Public Holiday in Lahore on Annual Urs of Data Ganj Baksh. There will be public holiday tomorrow on 10th November 2017 in Lahore on the occasion of annual Urs of Data Ganj Baksh

The three days celebrations of Data Ganj Baksh have started from Wednesday in Lahore. The District Government of Lahore has announced the public holiday today and according to the notification all offices, Lahore High Court (LHC) and education institutes will remain close on 10th November, 2017.

Data Ganj Bakhsh Annual Urs Starts in Lahore

The holiday in Lahore will not be applicable on Civil Secretariat employees and its related staff.

Petition Filled in LHC for Public Holiday On Iqbal Day. We informed you recently that there will no public holiday on 9th November on Iqbal Day as per the notification of Interior Ministry of the government of Pakistan regarding the holidays in 2017.

Pakistanis have a great reverence for Iqbal Day as they tribute to poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal, who was born on Nov 9, 1877 in Sialkot. They want that the government should honor the day by announcing public holiday.

In this regard a petition has been filed in the LHC, nominated the federal and provincial governments as respondents on the matter of declaring Iqbal Day as a public holiday. The petitioner wants them to make sure that the status of Iqbal Day as a public holiday is settled for once and for all.

The petition sought early hearing of the matter so that this year a public holiday is confirmed on 9th November.

It is still remain to see if the LHC approved the decision in favor of petition and the federal government will declare the Public holiday on Iqbal Day.

No Public Holiday on Iqbal Day November 9. There will be no public holiday on Iqbal Day, 9th November 2017 in Pakistan. The Interior Ministry of the government of Pakistan has not officially declared the public holiday on 9th November, 2017 as per the notification posted below.

It is important to mention here that the government of Sindh and KPK had officially declared the Public Holiday on Iqbal Day, 9th November,2016  in order to commemorate the Iqbal Day.

But there was no official public holiday across the country on 9th November 2016.

This year there will also no holiday on the occasion of Iqbal day 2017 as per notification below.

Sindh Government Declares Diwali Holiday. The Sindh government has declared the public holiday on the festival of Diwali. The public holiday will be for the Hindu community on Thursday 19th October 2017 in Sindh.

Diwali, religious occasion of the Hindu community, is considered with the Hindu New Year and is aimed at celebrating new beginnings.

This is the 5 days festival of lights which is celebrated by the Hindu communities across the world.

As per official deceleration, the notification issued by the provincial government, all Hindu employees of autonomous, semi-autonomous and local councils under the administrative control of Sindh will be given holiday on 19th October in  on the festival of Diwali.

1st Muharram Will Be on 22nd September 2017 in Pakistan. The new Islamic year of Muslims is to begin in few days. Muharram 2017 is all set to begin in Pakistan at the sunset of 21st September. The 1st Muharram 1439 Hijri will be on Friday 22nd September 2017. The Ashura 2017 will be on Sunday 1st of October. At Ashura various religious activities will be carried out such as spiritual singing and the recitation of Koranic verses. Since special prayers and addresses are piloted in public halls and mosques at night.

Ashura Day is observed in remembrance of the massacre of Muhammad’s grandson Imam Husayn ibn Ali – and some of his family and companions – at the Battle of Karbala.

There will be a public holiday on the occasion of Ashura 2017 in Pakistan.

Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calendar and also referred as Al-Hijra. With the sighting of the Muharram 2017 moon Muslims will start their new Islamic year 1439 Hijri.

The Islamic calendar is based on lunar movement, today is 22nd Zilhuj and according to the Islamic calendar the Muharram 2017 will begin in Pakistan on 22nd September and will end on 21st October. 1st Safar 1439 Hijri will likely to be on 22nd October 2017 in Pakistan.

In Pakistan the central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will officially declare the arrival of Muharram 2017 in Pakistan after seeing the Muharram moon on 21st September.

The committee member will gather on 21st September 2017 for sighting of the Muharram moon under the supervision of Chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman. The official declaration of the  1st Muharram 2017 in Pakistan will be made by the Chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman.

Muharram is the first Month in the Islamic calendar and with the 1st Muharram the New Year for Muslims start. Some Muslims use to keep fast during the first month of Muharram.

The Pakistan Day will be celebrated with the national holiday in Pakistan on 23rd March 2017. In this regard Government of Pakistan has officially declared Public Holiday on 23rd March 2017 in the country.

As per official statement all the Government and Semi-Government departments will remain close on 23rd March 2017. The Banks, Stock Exchanges are also observe holiday.

Pakistan Day, also known as Pakistan Resolution Day, also Republic Day has been observed in the country with great zeal and on 23rd March there remain a national public holiday in Pakistan to commemorate the Lahore Resolution. The Lahore resolution constituted on23rd   March 1940 aiming to contest for an isolated country for the Muslims of sub-continent. Before Lahore Resolution, there was no idea and concept of a separate state.

On 23rd March parade by the armed forces is a common celebration for the event. Preparations for the Pakistan Day parade are already in the full swing. After the consecutive gap of seven years, this will be the second Parade of Pakistan Day. This year the day will be celebrated with full zeal and enthusiasm.

Public Holiday on 1st December 2016

On the direction of Election commission of Pakistan and Punjab Government the authorities of Jhang has officially declared the public holiday on 1st December 2016 in the district on the occasion of election.

The official resources has confirmed that the official notification for public holiday on 1st December 2016 in Jhang. Earlier the Supreme Court of Pakistan has disqualified Rashida Yaqoob (member of PML-N) for hiding properties. She was elected in 2013 general election and the runner-up candidate Mr.Ludhianvi has challenged her election.

In order to fulfill the vacant position the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has declared to elect election in the district and ordered the authorities to officially declared public holiday on 1st December 2016.

In Pakistan Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government has declared the public holiday on 9th November 2016, on Iqbal Day.

The Chief Minister of KPK, Parvez Khattak has officially declared the public holiday on 9th November, 2016 in order to commemorate the Iqbal Day.

All the public government and private institutes and offices will remain close on November 9 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

No Public Holiday on 6th September 2016 Defence Day of Pakistan

There will be no public holiday on 6th September 2016 at Defence Day of Pakistan.

Pakistani nation celebrate Youm-e-Difah every year at 6th September to commemorate the sacrifices of the martyrs in Pak – India War II was fought in 1965. Both the countries had stopped war on September 6 as none of them occupied.

The 1965 war between Pakistan and India damaged the economy of both countries. Pakistan celebrates Youm-e-Difah or Defence Day just to show that the people of Pakistan were too brave and courageous as the lost their life for the sake of the country and nation and ruined the plans of their enemy on 6th September 1965.

Kashmir was the real cause behind the 1965 war between Pakistan and India, a number of people lost their lives during the war but the Kashmir dispute is yet unsolved. The war was ended by the support of United Nation UN.

The Defence Day (Youm-e-Difah) in Pakistan starts with special prayers for the peace and prosperity of the country. Prime Minister and President and address to the nation on 6th September celebrations.

There were used to be public holiday on 6th September in the country but now government has stopped the holiday on the occasion of Youm-e-Difah in Pakistan.
