Now 25-years Old Women Can Travel to Saudi Arabia on Tourist Visa. We earlier reported you that Saudi Arabia has now stated issuing tourist visas to the people interested to visit the country in the first quarter 2018. Presently, an electronic system for the process is underway.

The main aim to introduce the tourist visas is just to promote the tourism sector of Saudi Arabia.

Now the Saudi government has announced that the country would allow the women, who are at least 25 years, old to visit the kingdom without the need to be accompanied by a family member. Though, a women under 25 must be accompanied by a family member.

Omar Al Mubarak, director general of licensing at the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH) told to the Arab News that the  tourist visa will be a single-entry visa, and valid for 30 days maximum.

Now Biometric Verification Compulsory for Umrah and Hajj pilgrims

This visa is added to those currently available in the Kingdom. It is independent of work, visit, Hajj and Umrah visas.

Now Biometric Verification Compulsory for Umrah and Hajj pilgrims. The government of Saudi Arabia has made the verification of biometric compulsory for Umrah pilgrims from 10th of January. As per document received with Online, from 10th instant , all Umrah and Hajj pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia would be bound to ensure their verification on biometric.

Sources said that after receiving direction from Saudi Arabia, Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued necessary instructions to all concerned companies regarding Pakistani pilgrims. He added that this initiative has been taken for the protection and provision of better services to Umrah and Hajj pilgrims of various countries.

“All the persons entering in Saudi Arabia would be bound to abide by the Saudi laws as Saudi government gives significance to its guests, however the Umrah and Hajj pilgrims would have to follow the Saudi laws”, sources added.
It is worth mentioning here that Saudi government had postponed the verification of bio metric twice during last few months due to inappropriate arrangements of companies who have licence for sending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for Umrah and Hajj but after the assurance from them, the Saudi government has made it compulsory the verification of biometric system.

Saudi Arabia Scholarship Program For Pakistani Students. There is good news for those students who want to have Saudi Arabia scholarship for the continuation of their study.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have good bilateral ties and by keeping in view the good relationship between the both countries, Saudi Arabia has declared the Scholarship Program for the undergraduate Pakistani students. Saudi Minister Ahmed Al-Eissa and Pakistani Ambassador Khan Hasham bin Saddique met in a meeting where the Saudi Minister revealed about the scholarship program and quota reserved for the Pakistani students in the different universities of the county.

He said this initiative will help the students of both countries to get benefit from the educational opportunities. First secretary of political and media affairs at the Pakistani Embassy, Sardar Mohammed Kattak has appreciated the Saudi government’s initiative for offering scholarships to Pakistani students.

Saudi Government to Increase Charges For Umrahs. In an attempt to increase their revenue Saudi Arabian government is all set to add additional charges for Hajj and Umrah. The people who will come to perform and Umrah twice in a year will have to pay the amount of SAR 2,000.

All hotels and accommodations will also be taxed and plans are under way to open several ziaraats.

The Saudi government has been implementing new rules every year to boost its revenue, while adding to the expenses gained by the pilgrims.

In a year nearly 15 million Muslims across the world come to perform Umrah and nearly 2.35 million perform Hajj.  From Pakistan the numbers of people want to go for Umrah is increasing every year and according to estimation 1.5 million people are going to perform Umrah this year. As per Saudi government’s Vision 2020 national transformation programme, after the expansion of Haram approximately 13% increase will be seen in the number of pilgrims, while the 30% increase will be seen of those performing Umrah.
