AIOU Launches Degree Programs on ‘Seerat-un-Nabi’ Study. Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has revealed that they will soon launch academic programs, Master, M.Phil and PhD- level on ‘Seerat-un-Nabi’.

AIOU  Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui while addressing a ‘Mehfil-e-Naat’, held here at the University’s main campus as a part of ‘Jashan-e—Milad un Nabi’ (PBUH) has declared the launch of Degree Programs on ‘Seerat-un-Nabi’ Study. The event was arranged by the University’s Employees Welfare Association (EWA).

He declared that the University will held competition for writing books on ‘Seerat-un-Nabi’ on annual basis and the best book will be awarded special prize.The University will continue to lay greater focus on projection of the teachings of Quran and Sunnah through diversified activities in order to motivate the students to follow the same.

A research journal on ‘Seerat-un-Nabi was recently published by the University that has been declared the best academic publication of the year 2017. The AIOU won four other national awards on promotion of ‘Seerat-un-Nabi’.

It was for first time that that AIOU was declared the best one among the higher educational institutions on writing research journal and articles by the Federal Ministry of Religious affairs with five awards.

Dr. Shahid Siddiqui said, it was great pride to secure a leading position in projecting the teachings of Islam, particularly in context of Seerat-un-Nabi. The teachings of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) is a best source of inspiration and guidance for having a successful life here and hereafter, he added.

Earlier, the President EWA Sajjad Mahmood Janjua thanked the Vice Chancellor for accepting almost all the demands relating to the welfare of the low-grade employees. Naat-Khawan who participated in the event included Hafiz Noor Sultan Siddiqui, Alhaj Shahzad Hanif Madani, Qari Rehan Habib Soharwardi, Fakhar Abbas Kohoot and Hafiz Mansoor Ali.

Soft drink and soda are extremely dangerous for the health of your children. The excessive use of soft drinks and soda not only makes your children obese but also leads to health hazards.

A new study has revealed that if a pregnant woman drinks lots of Soft drinks and soda drinks she develops the risk of obesity in children. The study was based on a pregnant woman has gestational diabetes, which only occurs during conceiving.

If the pregnant woman consumes soft drinks and soda drinks in a large amount she develops the 60% risk of obesity in child. The study has also revealed that these sugar oriented can also cause premature birth.

The study was based on data of 60,000 women. However the researchers said that they need further experiments to get solid links to know the exact details and effects of soft drinks and soda.

Consumption of Coffee Reduces Type 2 Diabetes Risk

Food plays important role in diabetes. Anything which diabetic patients eat and drink directly affects blood glucose level. Most of the people have a habit to drink tea or coffee when they get up in the morning. A new study has shown that if people drink coffee in the morning they build immunity against having diabetes. Coffee contains caffeine and the consumption of it by young people does not raise blood sugar level.

Caffeine is in fact the drug found in coffee that can be unsafe if consumed in large quantity. Caffeine is a stimulant and can accelerate the central nervous system, but if people consume 400 milligrams of coffee per day its safe for their health. If a person drinks one cup per day over a 4-year period has 11 % lower risk for type 2 diabetes, found study.

The study has also found that if a person reduces his/her coffee consumption by more than one cup per day develops chances of having type-2 diabetes by 17 percent.

The findings are led by the Harvard School of Public Health.
