Government Imposes Section 144 in Islamabad and Rawalpindi
Today Government has imposed the Section-144 Pakistan is Islamabad and Rawalpindi for two months. Government has imposed the ban on all public gatherings and protest meant to lock down the capital and ousting Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif.
The section 144 is implemented in the federal capital ahead a week before Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s plan of locking down Islamabad. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has a plan to lock down the federal capital on 2nd November 2016.
The opposition parties and the leader of PTI Imran Khan demand the Sharif’s stand down over his children’s offshore bank accounts that were publicized in the Panama Papers leak in April this year.
The Deputy Commissioner Islamabad has issued a notification of the Section-144 of the criminal procedure code (CrPC) on Thursday that will remain enforced for 60 days, said reports.
Under the section 144 law no public gatherings will be there in the federal capitals, five or more than five people are not allowed to sit at one place for two months.
PTI Leader Imran Khan Said,
“This will be a decisive and historic gathering, people will come together with resolve to hold the prime minister accountable,”
On the other hand Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rashid has said,
He will “tear Section 144 into 144 pieces.”
