The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) wants a complete ban on carbonated drinks in school canteens across the province.
By keeping in mind the increasing health problems due to intake of high level sugar oriented drinks PFA decided to pass a proposal on the ban of carbonated drinks in the school canteens.
To ensure the safety and health of children the food authority wants to completely ban the carbonated drinks in primary and secondary schools. Furthermore children will not be provided with junk foods in schools. The food regulators want to replace the unhealthy foods with healthy meals to safeguard the health of new generation.
The proposal of the ban on carbonated drinks and junk foods is not yet been approved but the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) will present it to high official for the final approval at the upcoming board meeting.
The 973rd Annual Urs of Data Ganj Bakhsh (R.A) is to start from 19th November and the government of Punjab has made the proper security arrangements.
The celebration of the Data Ganj Bakhsh, Hazrat Ali Bin Usman Al-Hajvary (R.A) annual Urs will continue from 19th to 20th November 2016. Punjab Excise and Taxation minister chaired a meeting at the office of Lahore commissioner in order to make the security insurance during Urs. The committee said that in order to monitor the participants of the Data Ganj Bakhsh Urs , 155 CCTV cameras have been installed in and outside of the Darbar. Control room in Data Darbar will be operational round the clock.
The health departments counters have also been set up to facilitate the devotees, said DCO. The 32 Rescue 1122 ambulances will also operational round the clock. The Fire brigade vehicles of civil defense will also operational during the Data Ganj Bakhsh Urs. The food authority will also monitor the food item at Lungar.
During the meeting the arrangements of security has also been reviewed on Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).
