PEMRA Issued Notice To Terminate Game Shows in Last Ashra of Ramadan

The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority has notified all the media channels to terminate the game shows in the last Ashra of Ramadan. As per notification from PEMRA the last Ashra of Ramadan is to seek forgiveness and having Allah Almighty’s blessings rather to involve people in such type of activities.
BOL TV has taken the notice of PEMRA seriously and decided not to air the game show “Game Show Aisay Chalay Ga’ hosted by Amir Liaquat. As the televangelist said,

“We are the only network in Pakistan which is announcing that we will not air our game show in the last 10 days of Ramazan. During the last ‘Ashra’ of Ramazan we will only be praying and nothing else!”

On the other hand the TV channels which are airing game shows have not yet respond to the PEMRA notification. The PEMRA notification is shown below:

Petroleum Prices to Remain Same for January 2017
Yesterday we reported that Ogra decided to increase the petroleum price by Rs.6.93 a litre for January 2017. But today it has been reported by the TV channels that government has rejected the proposal of Orga for the increase in the petrol price and said that the prices will remain the same for the month of January 2017.

Ogra Proposed To Increase Petroleum Prices as mentioned below:

Ogra has proposed to increase Rs6.93 a litre in kerosene prices, which now stand at Rs50.18 a litre for January 2017.

On the other hand the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been raised by Rs3.94, to Rs79.16 a litre.

HSD is the top vending petroleum fuel in the country, as it is used by the large generators and heavy vehicle engines.

On the other hand the price of light diesel oil (LDO) has been increased by Rs3.48, to Rs46.82 a litre. LDO is consumed by the small engines and mills mostly operated in rural areas.

Though, a minimal surge of 31 paise has been intended by Ogra in petrol prices which have been raised to Rs66.58 a litre.

The three main aviation fuels including JP-1, JP-4 and JP-8 got the increase in price ranging between Rs4 and Rs6.

No Basant Festival in the Province, Government Denies Approval

Yesterday there were news at TV channels that the government of Punjab has consented to celebrate the Basant Festival in Lahore.

The Education Minister Rana Masood on Monday announced that the Basant Festival “Safe Basant” will be held in the province in February 2017.

    “The long awaited festival would entertain the citizens of Lahore at designated places in the provincial capital.”

The Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif earlier had established an eight member committee under the leadership MPA Zaeem Qadri for the revival of Basant Festival in Lahore.

Today the government of Punjab has refuted the new for the approval of Basant Festival in the province in February 2017. They said they are pondering over to take step and will make official announcement in this regard.

Government of Punjab said in a tweet that some of the news channels are airing the news that Government has approved the Basant Festival celebration, which is NOT Correct. Further add that they will officially announce if this step is taken.

It is important to mention here that the Supreme Court of Pakistan had banned the celebration of the Basant festival in the country in 2005, over the number of deaths by the use of sharp and glass coasted string.

Punjab Government Allows to Celebrate Basant Festival

It’s been reported by the social media TV Channels today that the government of Punjab has lift ban on celebrating Basant Festival in the province.

Quetta Police Training Terrorist Attack: 60 Dead, 120 Injured

Yesterday night about five to six terrorists entered into the Quetta Police Training Collage, meanwhile the military operation in the premises clear the training center.

At least above 60 security personnel were dead and 120 injured during the terrorists attack in Police Training center in Quetta. The injured police recruits were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta and CMH hospital.

Three terrorists entered the New Sariab Police Training College late Monday Night, some 13 kilometres away from Quetta city.  The terrorists straightly entered into the hostel where police trainees were sleeping.

According to TV channels reports three terrorists had been killed and two of them had blown up themselves.

Nearly 250 trainees had been got released by SSG commandos while a police cadet named Zubair was martyred during the terrorist attack in Police Training center in Quetta.

IG FC Major General Sher Afghan informed media that the terrorists acted on directions from Afghanistan. According to initial investigation the terrorists were associated with Lashkar-e- Jhangvi Al Almi.

 

The Chief Minister of Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri said that there were prior intelligence reports of an outbreak and security had been on high alert.

The security was high alert across the provincial capital, therefore the terrorists had chosen for the police training College, 30 KM way from Quetta City.

He said that Pakistan Army and Police worked tremendously worked together to save the recruits.

He Said

“Security agencies fought valiantly. Those martyred in the attack are our heroes.”

He Added,

“Will get to the bottom of this”.
